Autumn 2020

Disinfection requirements

  1. The District shall ensure that all essential infrastructure classrooms and workspaces are disinfected daily using the safest and near effective disinfectant necessary as recommended by federal, state, and/or local wellness officials. Common areas and frequently touched objects such as doorknobs, calorie-free switches, countertops, handles, phones, keyboards, elevator switches and buttons, touch screens, printers/copiers, grab bars, handrails and bathrooms will exist cleaned and disinfected multiple times per day and will be informed past the schedule of essential infrastructure programs at the Valencia campus.
  2. During skills practice, information technology volition exist the faculty and students' responsibility to disinfect workspaces and shared equipment using an alcohol-based disinfectant provided by the Commune.
  3. Equipment will be assigned to one student until completion of the assignment or the stop of the session.
  4. Instructors shall assign a designated station for students and Labs volition exist limited to 8 people.

Changes in teaching expanse layout

  1. One chair per table will be utilized in the iCUE café.
  2. Classrooms and the demo kitchen will remain locked for the elapsing of labs. One pupil is permitted to use the restroom at a time to assure spacing every bit required by the LA County Department of Public Wellness. Only faculty and staff are permitted to apply ICUE restrooms. Students must use outside restrooms.

Changes in class enrollment size

Campus arrival

While waiting, students are to also maintain physical distancing. One time labs have concluded, students must leave the premise immediately as required by the LA County Department of Public Health.

Entrance/exit to and from classroom/laboratory surface area

  1. The ICUE front door will be designated "Archway Only" and the side door by faculty offices will be designated "Go out Just".

Health screening

  1. Faculty and students shall be required to complete the daily online health self- assessment and submit to a non-contact temperature scan each day prior to educational activity. Cleared students volition exist provided a sticker indicating both steps have been completed. This sticker will be shown to the instructor upon arrival to the classroom.
  2. Health screening for Culinary Arts students volition be set up Aliso Hall.
  3. In-person health assessments will be conducted in compliance with LA County Section of Public Wellness requirements.

Concrete distancing techniques

  1. During skills practice / training, culling methods to physical distancing required by the LA County Section of Public Health as described in Physical Distancing Options, may be used.
  2. All students, staff, and faculty are required to wearable appropriate face up coverings (mask or confront shield)in all Culinary lab areas.
  3. When in the lab, students" workstations volition be spaced ~6' apart and shall be considered proper physical distancing.
  4. Students shall always article of clothing a fresh pair of nitrile gloves in the lab. Proper mitt washing shall also take identify. The District volition provide both nitrile gloves and sanitizer solution.
  5. During observation of students, concrete distancing techniques can be achieved by both educatee and instructor facing in the aforementioned direction (due east.g. not looking at each other).

Breaks

  1. Students will be required to bring their own water bottles.
  2. Refilling of personal bottles on campus volition not exist permitted and the commune will not provide water.

  4. Coordination of breaks between other classes shall be scheduled to minimize overlap.

Pedagogy restrictions

  1. All lecture type activities will exist conducted remotely. This does not apply to any program with hands-on demonstrations.
